On October 2-8, 2023, a delegation of employees and students from our faculty visited a Saudi university, namely the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). The goal of the visit was to deepen the cooperation between research centres of both countries.
During the trip, Dr Anna Dudek, AGH University associate professor, and Dr Tomasz Drwięga, Vice-Dean for Student Affairs and Education, together with students Piotr Łukasiewicz, Przemysław Spyra, Łukasz Obrzut, met with prominent international experts in statistics and data analysis, including Professor Hernando Ombao, who gave a lecture on “Exploring General Dependence in a Brain Network” during the last year’s student conference by the AGH University “Elements” Student Research Club, and Dr Iris Ivy Gauran, who conducted a research seminar and lectures on multidimensional tests for the students of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics.
The main purpose of the visit was to familiarise first- and second-cycle degree programme students with research topics, focused on key areas of data analysis, the research groups at KAUST are currently dealing with. The coordinator of the cooperation with the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) is Dr Anna Dudek.
